Staples Is Out | Fitness 19 Takes Over

The Staples in Pico Plaza is out, and neighboring Fitness 19 is rumored to be taking over half of the massive 70,161 Gross Leasable Area (GLA) unit by early October.

Staples was a long-term tenant in this large 70,161sqft storefront unit on Pico Plaza.

An auction was held on September 12th at 8:00 AM to sell-off the remaining inventory within the store, marking the official end of an era of last-minute school supply shopping in San Clemente. Students, faculty, and parents will be relying even more heavily on Amazon and it's Next-Day Shipping for Prime members to check off their back to school bucket lists.


Fitness 19 Expected To Takeover Half of the Now Vacant Unit

The niche-gym scene in coastal Orange County can seemingly do no wrong, and Fitness 19 is rumored to be expanding into nearly 35,000 more square feet of retail space after talks between the landlord and the Trader Joe's franchise to fill the 71,000 unit failed to reach an agreement.

Fitness 19 is a direct competitor to Lifetime Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, & Crunch Fitness. It offers memberships starting $9.99/mo. The Pico Plaza location is privately owned & operated.
